Selena Gomez can't break away from Justin Bieber, when it comes to her musical performances. Her concert was both a success and disappointment at the same time, as the sell-out crowd at St. Augustine’s Amphitheater loved her show. While the crowd was amazing, Selena is looking for a more mature audience than she had with Disney. The fans who came out to see her at the Amphitheater, made up the youngest crowd yet at this arena for a concert and many of them were there in hopes of seeing Justin Bieber, according to the St. Augustine Record.
The majority of this crowd of kids, that showed up to see Selena’s concert ranged from about six years old to 13, where the target age for Selena's mucic is more for the late teen and young adults groups. It is going to be a tough transation for Selena to pull an older crowd in, she is still the young Disney girl to many fans.
Along with the younger crowd, many of the fans lined up waiting to get into the concert were there hoping for a “Justin Bieber sighthing,” as they scanned the crowd often to see if he was there. This was bound to happen, after all Selena is the girlfriend of one of the most recognized teen pop icon in the world.
Some fans confessed that they were there mainly because they had hopes of seeing Justin Bieber, but liked Selena’s music, which still took a back-seat to Justin for them.
The singer’s dress, which was very adult like in appearance, was also a costume meant for an older audience to see, as it was quite sexy for any young adult, especially one just shedding their Disney look.
Connecticut fans of Selena Gomez can watch her on the “Wizards of Waverly Place” episodes, which are available on Connecticut’s Comcast Xfinity, “On-Demand.”
